Just looking at this goats-milk soap, by Lisa Hughes at The Prim Pantry, makes me imagine I’m on a fresh, tropical island somewhere in the Pacific. Just the thing I want to be imagining on a rainy Philly day… I hope they smell as yummy as they look!
Ahhh, this quilt is exactly what I want for my bed someday. I’m tired of an old comforter and an unzipped sleeping bag. Pam, over at For Quilts Sake, knows where it’s at.
Someday I’ll wrap myself in handmade, and wake up to a rainbow…
I think it’s a pretty good bet that I’m not getting married any time soon. But hey, if one of you handsome men out there get so enthralled with my art that you decide to propose, sight unseen, here’s the ring to get my attention.
A pearl set in a hand-forged silver band, from Higher Chakra Creations….!! Save the diamonds for some other girl!

We’ve all done it.
Put an elbow through a beautiful newly thrown pot? Guilty. Cracked a plate right in half while trying to straighten it out? Guilty. Just straight-up dropped something and had it shatter into a million pieces? Guilty.
Well, it’s all a natural part of the artistic process, right? The piece above was supposed to be a lovely green, like my Moss Bowl, but I put on the glaze too thin and got yuckity yuck on about 20 cups, instead! Bummer.

Please post your own tale of crafting woe, and a link to your own picture of the disaster, if you’ve got it! If you post a picture I will run it on the following Mondays – otherwise you will get to see more of my own mishaps! Woot!

I wouldn’t call steampunk my usual style, but even I know the pure awesomeness of jewelry made out of clock gears when I see it.
And Callooh Callay, another fellow writer, is busy making it art.
Oh yeah, and she quotes Frank Zappa in her shop announcement – instant bonus points.
Got great stuff, but think it could be presented a little better?
Leave a post here with a link to your Etsy shop or blog! I’ll take a look and pick one that grabs me. I’ll pull out some of your best stuff to feature here, and give you that “outsider’s opinion” that you need to get things looking polished and pretty.
Check back in next Saturday to see if you were selected!!
I think Heidi Lauman, of Stripes & Plaid, perfectly captures that wet-foggy-sticky-sweet, early-spring feel with this beautiful paper-cut of poppy pods. Plus, I love how the words of some mysterious story seem to be peeking out below each bud. What a nice adornment her work would make in some sunny room!
A dazzling candy dish from fellow ceramic artist Jenni Brant, of BurroBranch. I love the simple little details, like the dots…the big one shines almost like a pearl!
I’ve had the privilege of seeing Jenni’s work in person, at the gallery where I work. What a treat!
