Where does the time go?

messy-studio

Honestly, you get started on something, and voila! It’s 2 a.m., you haven’t done half of what you actually set out to do, your eyelids feel like they are sagging below your chin, and your dream of waking up early and actually lifting weights before work is still shimmering like an iridescent butterfly before your eyes – waiting to get crushed in the harsh light of morning and alarm clock buzzers.

Not to mention your prose becomes steadily more filled with absurd metaphors and half-baked similes as you get more tired.

Definitely time to hit the sack.

  1. I can relate. I always have a list of things to do that is way beyond realistic but it stems from a genuine excitement in making things, so I just accept that’s part of who I am.

I love the photo of your work area. Beautiful.

  2. I still think it’s extremely well written…
but then again, “Where does the time go?”
    feels like my theme song!

  3. Hmmm, there is a reason we’re given a “time out” between our yesterdays and tomorrows. To name just a few; it improves moods, stimulates the brain, renews the skin, rests the heart, relaxes the inner mechanisms, and performs miracles on the temperment!!

Amy, my dear, you Must take advantage of this wonderful gift we’ve all been given….you will love it!!! LOL LOL

  4. Yes, I’m afraid I’m terribly familiar with this feeling and the loss of time. Unfortunately the only thing I dream of lifting is a cup of coffee or five!

Loved seeing your “playground”, always so inspiring!
