Gotta love that snow! D. and I took off for a hike mid-blizzard on Saturday. We were nearly alone in our four-mile hike through the city, and it was great. We stopped at a great Jewish deli for hot soup and potato knishes, slid around on the metal sidewalk grates and got thoroughly soaked.
This morning we woke up to my car completely buried and the city at a standstill. D. dug out our front walk and then the steps for the elderly folks on either side of us (what a nice guy!). Settling in for a quiet day of cleaning and writing from home…
Anybody else do something fun in the snow this weekend?

LOL….We too love to go for walks (hikes) after a major snow storm…everything is always so very quiet. Our last storm a couple weeks ago only gave us about 8 inches…some of our mountains got over 5 feet!! What got us was the -19 windchill. It was too dangerous to stay out for long.

Just returned home from a week-end in NYC with a girlfriend. So glad Rochester missed the snow but Manhattan got about 9-10 inches. Didn’t bother us except for the BIG slush piles on the corners. Attended 2 theatre events; Alvin Ailey & Fela, a wonderful African musical about a musician/activist in Nigeria 10-20 years ago. Ate excellent food – Greek, Italian & more. Went to the new (to me) Museum of Art & Design near Columbus Circle for a fantastic paper exhibit & then the MOMA for the Bauhau exhibit. Only 90 more days til spring.
Amy- I’ve been stuck in TWO (count’em, two!) blizzards so far this year. El niño, you little hoodlam! We didn’t feel too bad for you east-coasters, since you had, on average, half the snow and wind-speeds we’ve had.
